Schurrle was a regular goalscorer while with Bayer Leverkusen.
"I'm always expecting from myself that I will score goals," Schurrle told the Mirror. "I have done that in my career (see video below) and should do it here.
"The opponents in England are more physical, so I've had to do a lot of work in the gym. I feel stronger already.
"But what helps is the way we play - turning defence into attack so quickly. That's my football. When we play on the counter-attack that I feel I can show my skills, my speed and pace. It's perfect for me.
"I know that my job when the ball is going down the other flank is to make sure I get in the box - that's where the goal is, where goals come from, where you need to be.
"When there's a chance, I have to be there - in the right place. If I'm not there I will never score."
