Chelsea have assured PSV Eindhoven they can sign Marco van Ginkel in January.

The 23-year-old is currently sidelined with a knee injury, which scuppered his hopes of returning to PSV on loan during the summer transfer window.

But the People says Chelsea plan to send Van Ginkel to the Dutch giants when he is fully fit.

No return date has currently been set but Van Ginkel hinted at a January switch when he broke the news of his injury.

“If I feel fit again we will look into it further," he said. “Who knows what might happen in January?"
