Chelsea assistant Emenalo never discussed transfer targets with journalists
Chelsea have backed assistant manager Michael Emenalo after it was revealed that he leaked transfer information to some journalists in Zagreb, Croatia on the weekend.
It is believed that Emenalo told Sports Kenovsti reporters during a visit to Zagreb on the weekend that the London club were after a trio of Croatian players but Blues officials have said that is simply not the case.
A spokesman told Press Association Sport: "The story is nonsense. Michael Emenalo didn't speak to any journalists nor make any such remarks.
"A single phone call to the club before going to print would have confirmed this."
Emenalo was in Croatia to watch Hajduk Split take on Dinamo Zagreb and reports suggest he was there to cast an eye over 19-year old striker Ante Vukusic.
