Chelsea have approached PSV Eindhoven technical director Marcel Brands.

De Telegraaf says Michael Emenalo quit as sporting director at Stamford Bridge in November, citing family reasons for his sudden resignation before joining Ligue 1 outfit Monaco.

The Blues are ready to step up their interest in Brands as a possible replacement.

Brands has been in his position at PSV since 2010. He has a good relationship with Chelsea having taken several players on-loan from the Londoners over recent years.

Blues midfielder Marco van Ginkel is just the latest to be playing on-loan in Eindhoven.
