Chelsea and John Terry cleared of wrongdoing in final match celebration

The Football Association has decided that no further action will be taken against John Terry or Chelsea after they investigated the planned substitution which took place in Terry's final match at Stamford Bridge at the end of last season.

Terry, who wore number 26 during his 19-year stint with the club, was subbed out of the match after 26 minutes. The FA's integrity department announced it would investigate the substitution following revelations that several punters made thousands of dollars from betting on the time that Terry would be taken out of the game.

The club fanzine also posted on Twitter before the match that Terry would be withdrawn after 26 minutes.

Nonetheless, the FA has stated that there is no evidence to support the notion that their was inside information passed along for the intention of gambling.

Terry is now clear to make his league debut with Aston Villa this weekend when they take on Hull City.
