Chelsea and Adidas continue lucrative partnership

Chelsea have extended their multi-million dollar kit deal with Adidas until 2023, reports www.sportspromedia.com/. The partnership, described by the club as its 'biggest deal to date', will see the German brand remain the Blues' official sponsor and sportswear supplier for the next decade.

While financial details were not released, the previous eight-year agreement between the two parties, signed in 2010, was believed to be worth up to US$30 million a year.

"We are delighted to extend our partnership until 2023 after a highly successful first seven seasons," Chelsea's chief executive Ron Gourlay said in a statement.

"Both organisations share the same ethos and ambition and the new deal reaffirms Adidas' belief in the club's status in world football."

Herbert Hainer, Adidas' chief executive, added: "Both Adidas and Chelsea FC have a long and proud heritage in football and we are delighted to continue our working relationship with one of Europe's elite football clubs.

"We look forward to many more years of success, working closely with the club on product, marketing and grassroots initiatives in the UK and around the globe."
