Chelsea are finalising a deal for Benfica midfielder Nemanja Matic. The Daily Mail says Chelsea were pressing ahead in their interest for the Serbian with Jose Mourinho's assistant Jose Morais travelling to watch him play for Benfica in the 2-0 defeat of Porto on Sunday.
The 26-year-old Matic, who left Chelsea three years ago as part of the deal that brought David Luiz from Benfica, is expected in London on Tuesday ahead of a medical.
Matic was at the Ballon d'Or gala dinner on Monday night and said: "I still can't say anything about this, let's see what happens in the future, you have to ask the club and the president.
"If it's good for the club and for me, we'll talk, let's see what happens."
