Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard is edging closer to a move to LA Galaxy. The Daily Star says the England midfielder was due to marry TV presenter Christine Bleakley on June 12 but he could, instead, be playing in the States on that date.

Lampard - out of contract with Chelsea at the end of the season - had been linked with a shock switch to Manchester United.

But Galaxy have upped their offer from 5m US dollars a year to 6m plus bonuses, for two years.

The MLS side are desperate to pull in a star name, with attendances and interest dropping off since David Beckham's departure for PSG.

Lampard, 34, knows there is no chance of a new deal at Chelsea.
