Chelsea winger Eden Hazard has signed a new deal with Nike.

The Daily Mail says adidas made a major play for the Belgian, but he stayed loyal to the American sportswear giants.

The appeal for adidas was to land the star player at Chelsea, one of their flagship clubs. Hazard was used prominently in the club's kit launch last week and his image dominates one side of the Megastore at Stamford Bridge.

"We are proud Eden has extended his contract," said Raf Peeters, sports marketing manager of Nike Northern Europe. "We expect a lot from Eden the coming years and he will play a prominent role in our marketing machine."
