Chelsea ace Hazard confident of recovering from subpar season

Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard expects to swiftly bounce back to top form in 2016/17.

The 25-year-old Belgian struggled for the Blues in 2015/16 after starring the previous season where he won the PFA Premier League Player of the Year and FWA Footballer of the Year, among other individual awards, as the Blues won the Premier League title.

The recently-completed season was nowhere near as kind for Hazard but he is confident that sanity will be restored when he steps out for the West Londoners after the summer break.

"Everything was complicated, it was difficult," Hazard, who will captain Belgium at Euro2016, told TeleFoot.

"Honestly, for five or six years I'd always been at my best and this was the first season where it was more difficult.

"But everyone knows that in a career there are highs and lows. For the time being, touch wood, I've only experienced the highs - except for this season, when it wasn't quite as good.

"But it was meant to happen this season. I hope it doesn't happen again next season."
