Chelsea ace Hazard confident of edging dominant PSG

Chelsea winger Eden Hazard believes he and his teammate will be able to get the better of Paris Saint-Germain if they are strong in defence.

Chelsea winger Eden Hazard believes he and his teammate will be able to get the better of Paris Saint-Germain if they are strong in defence.

The Blues travel to Parc des Princes to take on the French giants in the Champions League quarter-final first leg on April 2 before hosting Laurent Blanc’s Ligue 1 champions in the return bout a week later.

Ahead of the trip to Paris, former Lille star Hazard has backed his manager Jose Mourinho to go in with a defensive mindset in order to quell the PSG attack before hitting them down the other end as they did with aplomb in the 6-0 win over Arsenal on Saturday.

"I think the coach is strong enough to handle these kind of matches. We must be strong defensively," the Belgian told Canal+.

"We know Paris like to play as Arsenal, but if we press them. Paris play good football, Paris dominate their matches.

"Who impresses me more? Ibra [Zlatan Ibrahimovic] of course but Thiago Motta is also a great player. Yohan [Cabaye] is part of the great players, [Edinson] Cavani also, and their defence is tough."

Before the Paris test next week, Premier League leaders Chelsea take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
