Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas is hoping for big things this season from Radamel Falcao.

Fabregas reckons that Falcao, who is on loan from Monaco, will make a huge impression this season despite having failed to do so at Manchester United.

"We expect a lot from Falcao," he said. "He is a top player, his time in Spain was unbelievable and after that the injury made him drop a little bit but I expect a lot from him.

"What I am talking about is the protection of the ball with his back to goal, the link up play, the movement behind defenders, the way he fights , all of these things.

"He lacked confidence at United but hopefully he can get everything back now he is with Chelsea.

"He was one of the top three strikers in the world during his time in Spain and hopefully he can prove it again. We all know he had a bit of a dip but it was a big injury which he had.

"You need time to recover, especially for a striker , for midfielders perhaps you can get away with it a little easier but strikers you need that sharpness, that edge to get behind defences and it's not easy to get that back. Hopefully we can help him back to his best."
