Cheeky Man City move for teen Fernando after spotting him in Man Utd tournament

Manchester City have moved to trump Manchester United for Brazilian teen Fernando.

The Sunday Mirror says City have offered trials to the 15 year-old after spotting him in the Nike Cup - United's own youth tournament!

Fernando was one of the competition’s stand-out players as he helped Internacional reach the quarter-finals, where they were beaten 3-2 by eventual winners Barcelona.

News of City’s interest will come as a blow to United, who had developed an interest in the precocious attacking talent after spotting him first.

The tournament was at United’s Carrington training base.
