Chaves leaves Chicago Fire for Palestino
Diego Chaves has departed Chicago Fire after just one season with the club.
The 25-year old Argentine-born Uruguayan midfielder has left MLS to head to the Chilean Primera Division with Palestino.
Fire head coach Frank Klopas confirmed the move on the club’s official website, saying the addition of two foreigners made it difficult to retain Chaves’ services.
“We had conversations with Diego throughout the offseason, however, with recent signings of Rafael Robayo and Federico Puppo coming into the fold, it became difficult to bring him back. We wish him the best with his new club.”“Diego Chaves was signed for the 2011 campaign,” Klopas said.
