West Ham youth development guru Tony Carr has been axed.
The Daily Mail says West Ham have made academy legend Carr redundant - paying him the statutory minimum redundancy payment of just £14,000 despite 43 years of services.
The Hammers veteran has helped bring through a crux of internationals during his time at the club.
England stars Frank Lampard, Rio Ferdinand, Michael Carrick, Joe Cole, Jermain Defoe and Glen Johnson have all graduated from the Irons' academy during Carr's tenure, making a combined profit of £50million.
Current youngster Reece Oxford is attracting interest from some of the Premier League's biggest clubs, with a price of £18million being touted.
He said: "I'm very disappointed because I still feel I've got a lot to offer and West Ham has become a way of life for me after all these years.
"The way it was done with people from HR, who have been here hardly any time at all, was particularly disrespectful in my opinion. But that's the way of the world these days."
