Charlton's Powell: No changing Man City fullback Mills

Charlton Athletic fullback Chris Powell admits there's no changing on-loan Manchester City defender Danny Mills after his brain explosion on Saturday in their 1-1 draw with Hull City.

Left-back Powell was forced to make way when Mills was dismissed with 18 minutes left as Pardew desperately reshuffled his 10 men. Powell, who has represented the game with dignity, said: "Everyone's different. I've always been quite easy-going. You can't change.

"You are what you are, you have to manage it in different ways. Players like Danny and Robbie Savage, especially this time of year, are almost like pantomime villains.

"Danny is what he is. You won't change him. He is a very good player technically.

"It's a shame he's going back. He'd have been useful - not for the next three games though!

"He's fully committed. It is a fine line and every now and then he oversteps it.

"If he didn't play like that he wouldn't be half the player he is. Danny said he swore but not at the ref. It's the end of his loan now and I don't think we will see Danny in a red shirt again.

"He has been really good around the place. Totally different to matchdays. He puts his boots on and gets into scrapes. He plays on the edge."
