Charlton Athletic owner Roland Duchatelet has sacked manager Chris Powell.
The Daily Mail says Powell's position at Charlton has been precarious ever since the Belgian billionaire's takeover in January.
Powell was close to walking away from the Championship club in January as his relationship with the new owner reached breaking point.
But the pair seemed to settle their differences and Powell last week agreed financial terms on a new contract to stay at the club.
However, the former England international told club chiefs he would not sign the new deal unless he was handed cast iron assurances over his control on footballing matters.
Last week, Duchatelet effectively said Charlton would be a feeder club for Belgian side Standard Liege.
