Charlton lauds Park Ji-sung as best Asian player

England and Manchester United legend Bobby Charlton believes Park Ji-sung is the best player from Asia.

"Although China still struggles to field a team its people can be proud of, Japan and South Korea are becoming more and more competitive," Charlton told Newsweek.

Charlton is impressed with how Ji-sung has adapted to the English game.

"Park, a midfielder for Manchester United and probably the best professional Asian player, has become an icon in his home country and will lead the national team in the World Cup games," Charlton added.

"What's more, in June, North Korea forced its way through a competitive field to qualify for the World Cup for the first time since 1966."
