The 30-year old Belgian midfielder has penned a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Championship club for an undisclosed fee.
Addicks boss Guy Luzon was looking forward to working with Lepoint after seeing him in action as an opponent during the Israeli's spell as manager at Standard Liege.
"He is an experienced player and can play in more than one position," he told the club's official website.
"He is known as someone who plays in the middle of the pitch, but his versatility gives us more options.
"He is a professional player with a strong mentality and can score goals for the team. I believe he will be a very good player in this league."
