Aberdeen are showing considerable interest in former Cardiff City veteran Gavin Rae but may have some competition from Charlton Athletic.
The 33-year old ex-Rangers and Dundee man was released by the Bluebirds at the end of the recently completed season and has already received an offer from the Dons but that could be offset by a better bid from the Addicks According to the man in question.
"There is still a chance that I will go to Aberdeen. I'm planning to speak to Craig Brown when I get back from holiday and see what that leads to," Rae said.
"But Charlton have also made me an offer so it is only right I speak to them as well. I will make a final decision after that.
"I said before that it won't come down to how much I am paid.
"I also owe a lot to Craig because he awarded me my first Scotland cap. I'm sure Craig understands why I want to consider all my options.
"We'll just have to see how things work out."
