Charlton extend deal for Stoke's Soares

Charlton Athletic manager Phil Parkinson has extended midfielder Tom Soares' loan spell from Stoke City for a second month.

The 22-year-old, who joined Stoke from Charlton's south London rivals Crystal Palace for £1.5million in the summer, has made five appearances since arriving at The Valley last month.

Soares' new deal ties him to the Addicks until their home meeting with Preston on March 21, although Stoke do have a 24-hour recall option.

"Tom was lacking match practice when he came here but as the games have gone on he's got better and better and we're pleased with his contribution," said Parkinson.
