Charlton Athletic boss Phil Parkinson is confident of keeping 17 year-old midfielder Jonjo Shelvey.

Shelvey has been linked with Chelsea and Tottenham this season, but Parkinson said after seeing the youngster score against Norwich: "He just loves football and he deserved his chance to play in this one because he did well earlier in the season. But he is only 16 and we have to be careful when and how we play him.

"He is a big asset to us and will be a top player. I'm sure we can keep hold of him, there haven't been any calls yet."
