Charlton Athletic boss Phil Parkinson is delighted with the cash from Michael Turner's move to Sunderland from Hull City.
"Turner was my first signing when I was Hull manager and it's bizarre how it's turned out," said Parkinson.
"When I signed him we were haggling over a fee with Brentford. They had a sell-on fee with Charlton and we talked Charlton into saying they wouldn't take the fee this time but they'd take it the next time.
"That reduced the amount we had to pay to Brentford but it's strange how it's worked out.
"It's good for Charlton. In our particular situation the injection of money couldn't have come at a better time."
