Charlton boss Pardew: Zheng Zhi's English coming along

After moving from Chinese Super League side Shandong Luneng to Charlton for nearly a year, Zheng Zhi still requires an interpreter to communicate with his coach Alan Pardew and teammates.

The language barrier, however, has not prevented Zheng Zhi from doing well with the Addicks in the English Championship.

He scored twice to help Pardew's side consolidate fifth place in the English Championship with a 4-1 home win over Blackpool on Saturday. The 27-year-old has already notched up nine goals this season for Charlton.

"He's having lessons but it's very difficult for him to learn the subtleties of English," said Pardew. "You can imagine one of us trying to learn Chinese - he is doing very well."
