Charlton boss Alan Pardew has denied reports that Arsenal midfielder Alex Song is training with the Addicks.

Speculation has been rife in recent days that the 20-year-old Cameroonian is taking part in sessions at the club's Sparrows Lane training ground, with a view to a possible loan deal.

However, Pardew insisted the rumours are baseless but refused to move out a future move for Song, who spent four months on loan at The Valley last season.

"There's no truth in the stories that Song has been training with us," he said.

"We are always interested in quality players but I don't want to talk about people who are under contract at other clubs."
