USA striker Charlie Davies hopes for a new chance with Sochaux.

Davies spent the last MLS season on-loan at DC United and has now returned to France.

"This year I had the option to be loaned to the MLS again, or to leave," Davies told France Football.

"But I know I can be a success at Sochaux. I am lucky to play with guys like Marvin Martin and Ryad Boudebouz, who are amazing passers. I have to play, score, just one goal, and then I will bounce back.

"I wanted to stay at Sochaux and set myself a new challenge. I want to prove that I can be the same Charlie as three years ago.

"At the moment it is frustrating to be playing with the reserves, especially as Sochaux are struggling for goals in Ligue 1. I have worked so hard to get back to this level and I believe the coach will think about me soon.

"I want to prove to him that I can score if I am given a chance, at least one.

"I know I have to keep on proving myself, but I am a competitor. After the accident, I have come through hell. I deserve a second chance."
