Vancouver Whitecaps midfielder Bryce Alderson has been loaned to Charleston Battery.
The 19-yearb old Canada youth international will spend the season with the Battery in a bid to further develop his game in a first team environment.
"Bryce is one of the top young talents in Canadian soccer and he possesses a great deal of potential," said Martin Rennie, Whitecaps FC head coach.
"At his stage of development it is important to get as much competitive action as possible and we feel that he can benefit from spending time with Charleston Battery, who we have an excellent relationship with."
Alderson added: "I hear great things about Charleston and the club and I'm looking forward to this new opportunity as I continue my development."
