Chaparro: Betis must put points ahead of style

Real Betis coach Paco Chaparro admitted after victory over Villarreal that they "didn't play football" yesterday.

Ricardo struck the winner for Betis as Chaparro collected three points on his coaching debut and said afterwards: "I'd like to play another way, but getting the three points is our only priority at the moment.

"I'd like us in future to play a faster game. But the pressing from higher up the field was excellent and I could sense the self-confidence in the players returning."
