A brilliant Mohamed Diame strike was enough for Hull City to secure a 1-0 victory in the Championship play-off final against Sheffield Wednesday at Wembley.
The midfielder's curling right-footed shot from 25 yards sealed Hull's immediate return to the Premier League.
Steve Bruce's side dominated what as the Owls struggled to impose themselves as their 16-year exile from the top flight was prolonged.
Hull boss Steve Bruce told Sky Sports: "That little bit of quality, to decide a big game, Diame has produced a bit of magic and it's won us the match.
"We seemed to have so many good chances. Thankfully Diame has come up with a wonder striker and I'm delighted for him.
"I thought we had the better chances - my big players today performed excellently."
