Chelsea eased through to the quarter finals of the Champions League despite being held to a scoreless draw at home to Copenhagen.

The Blues 2-0 win in Denmark proved sufficient for them to progress although with the amount of possession they enjoyed the hosts should have scored at least one goal.

The visitor’s are clearly no mugs leading the Danish Super League by 19 points but Champions League history was against them as no home team has lost the first leg then managed to progress.

They just lacked that spark to trouble Chelsea although Dame NDoye did shake the home side when his 26th minute free kick crashed against the inside of the post and bounced clear.

Nicolas Anelka, Didier Drogba, Yury Zhirkov all had clear cut chances and Mikel headed against the woodwork in the second half.

Fernando Torres came on as a late second half substitute but is still waiting for his first Chelsea goal.
