Spanish veteran Raul scored his 70th European goal goal as German outfit FC Schalke held Valencia to a 1-1 draw in the Champions League Round of 16 on Tuesday night.

The former Real Madrid star scored in the 64th minute to tie the game up after Valencia’s Roberto Soldado had earlier put Los Che ahead with a 17th minute volley at the Mestalla.

Schalke were reduced to ten men when Lukas Schmitz received his second yellow card in the dying stages but it was not enough to deny Felix Magath’s men from securing a vital away goal in the draw.

The return leg will be held at Schalke’s Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen on March 9.
