Two first half goals proved sufficient for Bayern Munich to win 2-0 on the night and 4-0 on aggregate over their French opponents Marseille. Marseille are now winless in ten games in all competitions but the outcome could have been so different had Morel not missed an early chance when unmarked just 12 yards out.
Unfortunately for the French visitor's, Morel's shot was saved by keeper Neuer and with it an away goal which could have produced some nervousness in the German ranks.
As it was Bayern immediately went down the other end and made no mistake in finding the back of the net as Ribery's cross is converted from close range by Olic.
Marseille now had no option but to attack in an attempt to reduce the deficit, but this left them open to the counter attacks of the home side which cost them a second goal just before the break.
Another swift move out of defence by the Bayern ends with Olic again finishing from close range to double his tally on the night.
The French team where then indebted to their keeper Mandand for making a series of fine saves in the remaining minutes to the half-time whistle.
The second half was played with both sides resigned to the outcome and Bayern have now won 12 of their last 13 homes games in the Champions League, and set themselves up nicely for what is almost certain to be a meeting with Real Madrid in the semi-final.
