CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUARTER FINAL 1ST LEG: Milan and Barcelona in scoreless stalemate

AC Milan ensured they go to the Nou Camp all square after a 0-0 draw with Barcelona, but the Italians will now need a win or a scoring draw in Spain to progress. As usually Barcelona dominated proceedings and were denied a clear cut first half penalty when Alexis Sanchez was brought down by Christian Abbiati's challenge.

But credit Milan for their defensive resolve and they probably deserved a draw for that side of their game, and they even had chances to take a lead into the next leg but Robinho and Zlatan Ibrahimovic fluffed their lines.

Barca will be favourites for the next game but will have to turn dominance into goals if they are take their place in the semi-finals.
