It all went to plan for Celtic on Wednesday night as they came from behind to book their spot in the Champions League group stage.
The Hoops lost 2-0 to Shakhter Karagandy in Astana last week but bounced back with the desired 3-0 triumph at home (to win 3-2 on aggregate) after Commons struck on the stroke of half-time.
Joining him on the scoresheet were Georgios Samaras and James Forrest, who stuck in an injury time winner, prompting Commons to heap praise on the Celtic faithful who had helped support the side to the vital victory.
"We got a massive boost. We knew with this sort of support we could go on and win the game," he told Sky Sports 1.
"You can see what it means to the fans - it's magic."
As for who Celtic will be up against in the group stage, Commons was tipping another special moment for the Glasgow club.
"It's just going to be another magical time seeing who we do get," he added.
