Champions League prize pool to remain the same

Uefa have announced that the prize money for this season's Champions League competition will be the same as last term.

Each of the 32 teams in the group stage will receive a participation fee of €3.9million and €550,000 for every match they play in the group stage.

Clubs receive performance bonuses of €800,000 for every win whilst €400,000 is paid for a draw.

Each club that reaches the Round of 16 will receive an additional €3million whilst those eight who reach the quarter-finals get a cool €3.3m and semi-finalists grab €4.2m.

The winners of the 2011/12 Champions League will be paid another €9m whilst the runners-up get €5.6m.

Clubs are also a given a share of the TV market pool, based on the value of the television contracts in their country and where they finished in their domestic league.
