Champions League is ‘very serious’ this season - Man City star Yaya

Yaya Toure insists the Champions League will be extremely difficult for Manchester City to win in 2016/17.

City meet AS Monaco in the Round of 16 first leg at the Etihad Stadium tonight as they strive to follow-up last season's best-ever European finish which ended in the semi-finals at the hands of eventual champions Real Madrid.

"You need to be lucky," Toure told Rio Ferdinand in an interview for BT Sport.

"All the teams are massive teams and it will be difficult. When you look at Barcelona, they have been beaten (4-0 in the first leg by Paris Saint-Germain).

"It's very serious this year.

"Teams like PSG and Bayern (Munich), there is serious competition from my point of view."
