Champions League exit won't define Arsenal's season - Wenger

Arsene Wenger says his Arsenal side will not be defined by their Champions League disappointment on Tuesday night.

The Gunners were agonisingly close to pulling off a remarkable comeback by beating Monaco 2-0 at the Stade Louis II in the Round of 16 second leg but fell short on away goals after it ended 3-3 on aggregate.

Arsenal still have the FA Cup to play for as the prepare for the semi-final against Reading next month and are back in the Premier League title hunt and Wenger says there is more for his team to achieve than progressing in Europe's top competition.

"I am realistic enough to know every season is different. Judge our season at the end of the season," said Wenger.

"Tonight I don't believe we had a disappointing performance, it was a positive performance and you can take that into the end of the season."
