Arsenal defender Calum Chambers is coy over his plans this summer market.
Chambers is currently with England in Poland for the U21 Euros.
Reports have linked Everton and Newcastle with a £15 million move for Chambers, who was reluctant to discuss his plans for next season in any great depth after impressing in England's 0-0 draw with Sweden in Kielce.
Asked whether he would return to Arsenal after gaining what he termed “valuable experience" at Middlesbrough Chambers would only tell reporters that he didn't wish to comment.
However, Chambers was effusive about teammate Per Mertesacker.
“In the last few years he was my mentor," Chambers told Kicker. “I've never seen such a professional, dedicated player, I've learned from him every day.
“He kept me on track, reminded me of the little things that brought you where you want to go. He's a great guy.
“To learn from such a player and such a personality - I could not have done better. I just got better because I could train at his side every day."
