But Wenger, who seemingly hold the cards after Chamakh said he would prefer a move to Arsenal, admitted that nothing had yet been sorted between the player and the club.
"We are talking to nobody. We are focusing on tomorrow's game," Wenger said.
"I believe he talks to many clubs, which he is entitled to do. He is free to sign a pre-contract.
"He is free to sign where he wants, but I cannot interfere in that."
