A pre-contract for Bordeaux's Marouane Chamakh to join Arsenal in the summer has not been done according to boss Arsene Wenger.

The Morocco international is out of contract at the end of the season and is keen to move on from Bordeaux with Arsenal and Liverpool emerging as frontrunners.

But Wenger, who seemingly hold the cards after Chamakh said he would prefer a move to Arsenal, admitted that nothing had yet been sorted between the player and the club.

"We are talking to nobody. We are focusing on tomorrow's game," Wenger said.

"I believe he talks to many clubs, which he is entitled to do. He is free to sign a pre-contract.

"He is free to sign where he wants, but I cannot interfere in that."
