Chamakh expecting second season with Arsenal to be easier

Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh feels his second season in the Premier League could be a bit easier than his first.

The Moroccan kicked off his Gunners career in impressive fashion with some strong early performances before tapering off when Robin van Persie returned to fitness and form.

But Chamakh, who joined Arsenal from Bordeaux on a free transfer last summer, says that the upcoming campaign may be slightly easier for him personally as he knows what to expect.

"No, I think it'll in fact be easier," he told the club's official website.

"I understand both the football and the group better, and I now have many friends in this team. So I aim to keep improving and to make a big contribution.

"Your first pre-season is always difficult, you have to accustom yourself to new training and make new friends, but we're all together and everything looks fine."
