Marouane Chamakh is delighted Cesc Fabregas chose to stay with Arsenal this season.

Chamakh admitted it was vital the club kept hold of Fabregas and that playing alongside the Spaniard was one of his main reasons for joining the Gunners.

"I believe keeping Fabregas at the club showed the ambitions of the club," said Chamakh.

"Also, on a personal level it was great for me as I have always wanted to play in the same team as him and it was one of the reasons why I joined Arsenal."
