Chairman Constantin slams 'awful' Sion team ahead of Liverpool clash

FC Sion Chairman Christian Constantin has launched an astonishing attack on his own players ahead of the club's important Europa League clash against Liverpool at Anfield.

Sion did not enjoy the best of preparations for their glamour tie against Premier League giants the Reds after suffering a shock home defeat at the hands of FC Vaduz in the Swiss Super League over the weekend.

Following the game, Constantin was left less than impressed and berated his own players as well as manager Didier Tholot.

Speaking to Swiss reporters, Constantin said: "Awful, awful, awful. For this game every adjective is applicable, as long as they are negative. It was pathetic. I never thought that we could fall so low. We cannot say that the players have shown motivation. The players should be ashamed of being paid. They are all living in a false reality.

"I do not know who deserves to wear the shirt of FC Sion in the mythical stadium (of Anfield). If it turns out that the players choose their games based on the show then I will begin to choose who is worthy to play."
