Serie A new-boys Cesena have snapped up former Ghana captain Stephen Appiah.

Appiah was a free agent after the end of his contract with Bologna and has penned a one-year deal with Cesena.

The 29-year-old was at the World Cup with Ghana this summer.

Appiah's career has spanned across Udinese, Parma, Brescia, Juventus, Fenerbahce and Bologna.
