Cesc's Arsenal future decided this summer

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admits the future of skipper Cesc Fabregas will be decided in the summer. Wenger says that Fabregas's contract will not be dealt with until the summer and admits that if the new captain does not sign then, the club will lose all power to keep him from joining Barcelona.

The Frenchman said: "If a player tells you he wants to leave, that he does not want to extend his contract, what can you do?

"If you say, 'No, you don't leave', he can use the Webster [ruling] and you cannot stop him. Or you say, 'Yes, you can move', but you take advantage of the situation to negotiate a contract with another club. That was basically the situation with Hleb.

"He told us he wanted to leave but he wanted us to have a transfer fee, so I think he behaved correctly with us. But you have no real power to stop them from moving."
