Cesare Maldini says the jury's out over David Beckham's effectiveness for AC Milan.
The on-loan LA Galaxy midfielder made his debut in Sunday's 2-2 draw with Roma and Maldini, who now works as a scout for Milan, said: "With Milan, he had played only a friendly match in Dubai and therefore could not yet know the mechanisms of the game. Also, we should not forget that he comes from a long period of rest.
"I thought that Carlo (Ancelotti) would give him 40-45 minutes, but he played almost the entire game. It was a normal trial, but there is room for improvement. What is clear, the Milan midfield has some real artists, but I do not know if they can continue playing well together."
