Central Coast Mariners striker Dylan Macallister believes his form has been good enough to warrant at least a thought to be included in the Socceroos squad for Asian Cup qualifiers.
The Socceroos take on Indonesia in Jakarta later this month and coach Pim Verbeek has said he will use A-League-based players only which gives the 26-year old a lot of hope.
"I know he is picking an A-League-based side, so I am hoping for a role in it of course. I have been playing well and I think I can really do a job that no one else can do," he said.
"I have played my best football in the last two months but you can't think too much about it. You need to be focused on club football and do your best and hope you catch the eye. It's nice to know that if I do get picked they will probably play a system that suits my game."
Macallister and the Mariners take on Melbourne Victory tonight at the Telstra Dome in a season-defining clash.
