Central Coast retiree Clark happy with decision
Retiring Central Coast Mariners right-back Andrew Clark says he has no regrets about his decision.
The 35-year old will play his final game for the Mariners this weekend before giving the game away but he will remain in the sport as strength and conditioning coach with the club.
Last night, Clark made his last appearance at Bluetongue Stadium in front of Mariners fans and the team turned it on for him, beating the Newcastle Jets 3-0.
Clark said he was happy with his decision to hang up the boots but was looking forward to helping the club in a different role.
“It's been brilliant to be able to do that at home. I had no expectations about today but to go out and finish with a convincing win in a derby game like that is a great place to finish playing and great way to do it," Clark said after the match.
"It's been something I've been thinking about for a while. I've had a little bit of an ongoing injury problem.
"I've got high hopes for the future and I just realized that for the club and for myself I'm going to be much better served to be able to put all my energy into making sure that we come back and win trophies at this club."

Andrew i am very sorry to see you hang up the boots but if its what you want to do. Andrew i could have seen you play for a few more yrs but with injuries it is hard. being one of your biggest fan i will miss you.
