Central Coast Mariners get the chance to go clear in second place on the A-League table when they take on Perth Glory tomorrow night.

Graham Arnold has guided his men to the penultimate position ahead of their Week 23 midweek outing against the10th-placed Glory at nib Stadium and a win (or draw) would put them clear of Adelaide United who are in third.

Arnold is happy that his players had prepared themselves well enough for a tough schedule such as this and he hopes the Mariners are up and about following their tough 2-0 away triumph over Newcastle Jets on the weekend.

"We've built ourselves up this year and we're sitting in a good position," said Arnold.

"Tomorrow is our other game in hand on Adelaide so as long as we get something out of the game then that would be great, but if not we'd still be on the same points as Adelaide with three games to go.

"Everyone has to do it and the boys have recovered well after the derby on Sunday.

"We're looking forward to a very difficult game tomorrow night, we had to endure three tough games last week and the same this week but there is no use complaining about it, we just have to get on with it and the boys are fit and keen, and ready to put on a good performance."

The Mariners meet the Glory at nib Stadium on Wednesday, January 19 - kick-off is at 7:00pm local time (10:00pm AEDT).
