He said: "He has done well and the previous manager also did well. We are all pulling in the same direction.
"I think it was important that he stayed with one game left.
"I don't know how much truth there was in the Bolton thing. All I can do is speak on behalf of the players, we have got one game left and we will give it our best shot.
"It's a good place to be at the moment and we are all looking forward to the game coming up."
