Celtic's McGeady looking for more clinical finishing

The Republic of Ireland international wants to improve on last season's eight goal tally.

"In previous seasons, it was sometimes said that my end product wasn't good enough.

"I worked hard on that and I managed to set up a few goals.

"I maybe answered my critics by doing that and that's the aim again - to set up goals and score more goals.

"Eight goals isn't a bad return, and I don't think I'm the worst finisher at the club, but I know I could have scored more goals.

"Last season, my target was to hit double figures. I managed to get eight and that was okay, but I think I can score more.

"I hit the woodwork a few times last season and I'll be looking to improve my finishing."

McGeady added: "My main aim is to maintain the consistency I had last season, but I know it's going to be harder.

"The mark of a good player is if you kick on, improve and be more consistent.

"Having a good season was pleasing, but I want to progress and improve again.

"That's the challenge this season but it won't be easy. I might get double-marked at times and that's something I'm getting used to."
